Barbara Gottardi

Barbara Gottardi is now the CEO of Wedlvr Ltd – an independent consultancy specialized in helping companies through complex digital transformation programme. Through Wedlvr Barbara acted as interim CIO for Admiral Money defining a new technology strategy to run/scale the current Loan and Car Finance business whilst also developing the capability and infrastructure to evolve the technology to diversify current business lines to new product verticals. She is also a senior advisor at Alvarez & Marsal’s Financial Industry Advisory Services in London. Barbara’s consulting work is focused on digital transformation and the role of CIO. Barbara worked at HSBC for 16 years covering multiple roles across Investment Banking, Asset Management, Legal (COO) and Retail Banking. Her last role was MD CIO for Retail Business Banking & Channels Globally. She was then hired by Vanguard Europe where she was the CIO for Europe. She has a commercial mindset developed through her time as Chief Operating Officer in Legal and Retail Banking. After HSBC she moved to Vanguard where she was the Chief Operating Officer She initiated and implemented the Digital and Technology strategy changing the structure towards a product driven organisation and successfully evolving the business to Value Streams and Agile methodologies. Barbara has a masters degree from the University of Venice, a management certificate from Birbeck University and completed a COO course at Judge Business School in Cambridge. Italian is her mother tongue, but she is fluent in English with good understanding of French.
