Biography -Nicola Gribbin is an accomplished Chief Information Officer (CIO) with over 20 years of international experience in various industries, including retail, oil and gas, maritime shipping, and technology professional services. She currently serves as the CIO for SSE’s Distribution networks business, SSEN, which is responsible for delivering electricity to over 3.8 million homes and businesses in the UK. In this role, she has been a driving force behind SSEN’s digital strategy, and championing SSE’s net zero ambition, contributing to the drive towards a sustainable energy future. Nicola encourages participation and collaboration, creating an informal leadership style that inspires her teams to achieve their goals. She motivates others through her boundless energy, creativity, and deep-seated desire to help others succeed. In addition to her role at SSEN, Nicola is the CEO of my Ocean Life, a platform that empowers and supports the global seafaring community. my Ocean Life was launched in December 2020 and has already garnered a growing membership and team of volunteers. Nicola’s passion for inspiring others to enjoy life’s journey has led her to create my Ocean Life as an opportunity to give back to the community that has given her so much.
