Sandhya Bakshi, AI and IOT Solution Architect at Avanade tells us her Top 3 Takeaways from WOSR22!
Attending WOSR 2022 was definitely one of the highlights for me this year. It was amazing to see so much of talent in one single place and though majority of it was women, was good to see so many male allies. There was so much energy and though I couldn’t attend all the events I was interested in, managed to hear some great speakers and network with some wonderful ladies and below are my top 3 takeaways:
1. Flexible ways of working is the key to attain and retain great talent and it was music to my ears when different women from varied organizations mentioned how supportive their companies/leaders are, in terms of allowing them to work flexibly and give their best.
2. Be brave. I was surprised to see so many women being brave enough to openly talk about their day to day challenges, in a room full of strangers, strangers who were kind enough to share their experiences in terms how they reacted in those kind of similar situations. It was lovely to see people learning from each other’s experiences and many left that room with an extended network of strong female community.
3. Events like WOSR are great opportunity to not only network but also explore great work other organizations are doing. Amazing to hear so many great strong female leaders, exploring the great work done by other IT companies, meeting like-minded people, receiving great career advices in various workshops – all under one roof, what else can we ask for really…
In short, an experience I would highly recommend. Someone wise has said it right – “Your network is your net worth” and events like WOSR will help you increase your worth for sure.
